Privacy Policy

HexBurst ("we", "our", or "the app") is a casual puzzle game developed by Thomas Plunkett. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data

If you choose to sign in (via Google or Apple Sign-In), we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo URL from your identity provider. Sign-in is optional; the game is fully playable without an account.

Game Data

We store your game progress, scores, settings, and purchase records. This data is saved locally on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to our cloud service (Google Firebase Firestore) so you can access it across devices.

Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve and measure ads. If you purchase "Remove Ads", no advertising data is collected.

Analytics Data

We may use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as session duration, levels completed, and feature usage. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party services listed above, solely for the purposes described in this policy (authentication, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, and purchase processing).

5. Data Retention

Your game data is retained as long as your account exists. If you use the "Reset Progress" feature in Settings, your game progress is cleared but purchase records are preserved. You may request full account deletion by contacting us or using the in-app delete account feature (see below).

Account Deletion & Purchases

If you delete your account, all associated data — including game progress, scores, and purchase records — will be permanently removed from our servers. Web purchases made via Stripe cannot be restored after account deletion, as they are tied to your account. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store can be restored independently via those platforms' restore mechanisms. We recommend considering this carefully before deleting your account.

HexBurst is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase and secure HTTPS connections to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
